Ingredients

Quantities are for 2 servings.

Active time only; keep the milk and ice cream chilled so the shake stays thick.

Method

  1. Set aside a couple of Oreo cookies for garnish later. Roughly break the remaining cookies into halves.

  2. In a high-powered blender, combine the chilled full fat milk, vanilla ice cream scoops, broken Oreo cookies, and ice cubes.

  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is thick, frothy, and thoroughly combined. You should still see tiny black cookie speckles throughout the liquid.

  4. Take your serving glasses and hold them at a tilt. Drizzle the chocolate syrup along the inner walls, rotating the glass to create a dripping mudslide effect.

  5. Pour the thick shake directly into the decorated glasses.

  6. Crush the reserved Oreo cookies with your hands and sprinkle them generously on top. Finish with a scatter of chocolate chips. Serve immediately with a thick straw.

How to tell it's done

Luxuriously thick, icy, and creamy with soft cookie crumbs suspended throughout.

Getting it right

Tip

Avoid adding too much ice or milk, as it dilutes the cafe-style viscosity. The secret to a spoonable thick shake lies in maximizing the ice cream ratio.

What to serve it with

Pair with salted French fries when you want a sweet-and-salty cafe-style snack.
