Ingredients

Quantities are for 2 servings.

Active time only; freeze the syrup-lined glasses briefly before blending if you want cleaner drips.

Method

  1. Prepare the serving glasses by drizzling the chocolate syrup along the inner walls. Place the glasses in the freezer for a few minutes so the syrup hardens slightly.

  2. In a high-speed blender, add the crumbled chocolate brownie, leaving a small piece aside for the final garnish.

  3. Add the chilled milk, vanilla ice cream, the remaining chocolate syrup, and ice cubes into the blender.

  4. Blend everything on high speed until completely smooth, thick, and frothy.

  5. Take the frosted glasses out of the freezer and pour the thick brownie shake into them.

  6. Top immediately with the reserved piece of brownie and generously sprinkle chocolate chips over the rim. Serve immediately with a thick straw and a long spoon.

How to tell it's done

Luxuriously thick, icy, and dense with tiny, chewable brownie crumbs melting in the mouth.

Getting it right

Tip

Heating the brownie slightly in the microwave for 10 seconds before blending brings out its chocolatey aroma and makes the shake taste richer.

What to serve it with

Serve as a dessert drink on its own, or pair it with savory snacks like french fries or nachos to balance the sweetness.
